Sonam Wangchuk  is a Ladakhi engineer, innovator and the founding-director of the  Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh  (SECMOL), that runs on solar energy and uses no fossil fuels for cooking, lighting or heating.

Sonam Wangchuk also started a project called the   Ice Stupa, with a sole   aim to find a solution to the water crisis being faced by the farmers of Ladakh .

Sonam Wangchuk is clearly the unofficial father of innovation and has a major feature film dedicated to him, though he clearly denies both the laurels. Latika Suneja from IncubateIND recently caught up with Sonam Wangchuk and spoke to him
